I’ve had one of these MIO heart rate monitor watches for roughly two years now, and it’s been extremely handy. When I’m in mid-training, faux-bored or agitated, I’ll press my two fingers on the pressure sensitive pads and find out where I’m at - cardiacally speaking of course. My resting heart rate is in the mid 40’s. The average adult resting heart rate is mid 70’s. Lance Armstrong’s resting heart rate is in the mid 30’s.
But what resting heart rate is too high? And what are the associated dangers of having a jackhammer heart rate? The answer was found at Dr. Mirkin’s website. Here’s the quote (or should I say kwout):
Again, if that’s you, see your doctor and get it checked out.
